Obituary for Dorothy Voorhis Fronefield

Dorothy Voorhis Fronefield, 92, of Tremper Avenue, Kingston, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 1st, 2017 at Archcare at Ferncliff Nursing Home, Rhinebeck, NY.

She was born in Kingston, New York on August 23rd, 1925, a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Hilda (Hoffman) Fronefield. She was the twin sister of the late Doris Fronefield who died March 5, 2016.

Dorothy attended Teacher's College at Columbia University in NYC, and received a Master's Degree from Douglas College. She also studied English at New Paltz College.

She was employed for two years at St. Mary's Hall in Burlington, NJ, seven years in the Statistical Dept. of Bowery Savings Bank, NYC, and over 25 years as a teacher at Clark High School in Westbury, Long Island.

She was a member of the Women's Club of Forest Hills, NJ and a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Kingston.

In addition to her twin sister, Dorothy leaves behind her dear cousin Albert Hoffman, and his wife JoAnne, and their daughter Jeraldine Hoffman.

Friends will be received at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday (today), October 6, 2017.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Kingston on Saturday, Oct. 7th, 2017 at 12 noon, The Rev. Rick De La Pena, celebrant. Interment will follow at Montrepose Cemetery,
