Obituary for Virginia Katherine Kiernan

Virginia Katherine Kiernan, 91, of Kingston died, Thursday, July 27th 2017 after a long illness.

Virginia was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on May 9th, 1926, a daughter of the late Harrison and Jesse (Hoffman) Lucas.

She was employed as a matron for the Kingston Consolidated School District

Virginia (Ginny) was predeceased by her husband, Edward (Buddy) Kiernan the proprietor of Ginger’s Restaurant, her sister Shirley Lucas Craig and two brothers, Eugene (Shrimp) and Harry Lucas.

She is survived by her son, Tom Kiernan and his wife Sue, of Tampa Florida and a daughter, Ginger Corcoran and her husband Joe, of Kingston, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren

The family has entrusted the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus, with the care and cremation service arrangements for Virginia.

In honoring Virginia’s wishes, there are no calling hours or service. Cremation held at Wiltwyck Crematory. A future Celebration of her life will be announced.
