Dr. William J.  Van Kleeck, Jr. DO
William J. Van Kleeck, Jr., D.O. passed away on May 4th. He was born in New Paltz, NY on January 29, 1929, the son of William Van Kleeck and Annie Jones Van Kleeck. He practiced medicine in Saddle Brook, NJ and Kingston, NY for 49 years and was the former owner of Hideaway Marina.

He is survived by his loving, long-time companion, Ellen Listort of Port Ewen, daughters Marme VanLeuvan-Matthews of Stroudsburg, PA, and Stephanie Gannon and husband Fred of Greenwood Lake, NY and son Jay Van Kleeck and wife Donna of Olive Bridge, NY. He is also survived by 5 stepchildren, Edward Schulze, Thomas Schulze and wife Ginny, Carol Benson and husband Bill, Marie Arney and husband Michael, and John Schulze. He also has 7 grandchildren as well as 8 step-grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by 3 sisters, Joan Steeley and husband Vince of Rochester, Barbara Clark of Port Ewen, and Janet Regan of Kingston and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his love of practicing medicine and caring for his patients, Doc, as he was known by his family and friends, was an avid boat enthusiast. He was also interested in aviation and had his private pilot’s license, and was a Senior Medical Examiner for the FAA.

Arrangements are under the care of the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus.

A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends on June 18th, 2017.
