Stephen P.  Kondor
Stephen P. Kondor, 86, of New York St, Connelly, Town of Esopus, passed away while in the comforting presence of his family on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Mountainside Residential Care in Margaretville.

Stephen was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on September 9th, 1930, a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Rist) Kondor. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean war.

A skilled carpenter and member of Carpenters Union Local 203, he was employed with Western Printing and the Culinary Institute of America. He was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church in Esopus.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Erma Irene (Beneway) Kondor, four daughters, Kathleen Power and her husband John, of New Paltz, Susan Kraehmer, and her husband Steffen, of Plattekill, Debra Lane, and her former husband Daniel, of Petersburgh, and Wendy Brett, and her husband Martin, of Mt. Marion, one son, Stephen P. Kondor, Jr., and his wife Pamela, of Poughkeepsie, ten grandchildren, and three great-children. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

He is predeceased by a granddaughter Sarah Brett, and many brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, 1055 Broadway, Esopus, Rev. Eugene J. Grohe, celebrant. Military honors by Joyce-Schirick VFW Post 1386 Honor Guard and Prayers of Committal will follow at Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum. Cremation will be held privately at Wiltwyck Crematory.
