John J. Buchinger Sr., 72, of CR-19, Elizaville, Town of Livingston, died Thursday, December 29th, 2016 at home.
He was born in NYC, New York on June 2nd, 1944, a son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Rolfe) Buchinger.
John was employed for over 20 years as a manager for Keuffel & Esser Company. He was EMT Instructor who also proudly served as captain of the Copake Rescue Squad. He enjoyed coaching Little League, and was a person who would "go without" in order to give to others.
He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Holian, and her husband Tim, of Lee, MA, three sons, John J. Buchinger Jr. of Copake Falls, Glenn Buchinger, and his wife Leanne, of Olive, and Scott Buchinger, and his wife Dawn, of Athens, and six grandchildren, Daniel and Eric Desaulniers, and Paige, Scott, Anthony, and Addison Buchinger.
John also leaves behind his cherished pet companions, Noah and Charlie.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Ann Marie.
The family has entrusted the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus, with the care and funeral arrangements for John.
Cremation was held at Wiltwyck Crematory, Kingston.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, Jan. 7th, 2017 at the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 8074 Route 22, Copake Falls, NY, Pastor George Brennan will officiate.
