Lester R.  Schwark Sr.
Lester R. Schwark, Sr., 73, of Minturn St,, lifelong resident of Port Ewen, passed away Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus.

Lester was born in Kingston, NY on August 14th, 1943, a son of the late Walter H. and and Evelyn (O'Dell) Schwark.

Employed as a maintenance mechanic for Benedictine Hospital, he enjoyed metal detecting and watching TV westerns, and loved his Beagle Dusty.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane (Lucas) Schwark, two daughters, Susan Van Vliet, and her husband Jay, of Sleightsburgh, Terri Helzer of Connelly, two sons, Lester Schwark, Jr., and his wife Lori, of Port Ewen, and Todd Schwark, and his fiance Lori, of Kingston, four grandsons, Salvatore Dispensa, and his fiance Lauren, of S.C., Jordyn and Jarred Schwark of Port Ewen, and Zachary Helzer of Connelly, one sister-in-law, Victoria Schwark of Port Ewen, and two brothers-in-law, Charles and Eugene Lucas, and his wife Kathy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Cremation was held at Wiltwyck Crematory.

The prayer service will begin at 1:45 pm, Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus, Pastor Carl D. Johnson, will officiate. Friends will be received at the funeral home, prior to the service, from 12 noon to 1:45 pm.
