Joseph Daniel "AJoe"  Fanelli
Joseph Daniel "AJoe" Fanelli, 23, of Salk Drive, Highland passed away at home on Thursday evening, September 15th, 2016, losing an immense struggle with an addiction.

Joseph was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on November 11th, 1992, a son of Deacon Marc L. Fanelli of Highland, and Karen (Muir) Mazzella and her husband Leo, of Poughkeepsie.

Joseph loved hunting and fishing in the Hudson Valley, and enjoyed playing the guitar. He especially loved being with family.

He is survived by two brothers, Daniel and Dominick Fanelli, his uncle Eric and his wife Heather Fanelli, and their children, Victoria and Samantha Fanelli, his aunt Marie and her husband Joe Russo, and their children, Joseph, Michael and Concetta, all of Highland, and his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Albena "Bea" Muir of Poughkeepsie, and Leo and Donna Mazzella of Marlboro. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Victoria Fanelli.

Friends will be received from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am, Tuesday at St. Augustine Church, 55 Main St, Highland, Fr. Thomas L. Lutz, celebrant. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the kind gesture of "Paying it Forward" in memory of Joseph.
