Obituary for Helen A. Shultis

Helen A.  Shultis
Helen A. Shultis, 87, of Boices Lane, Town of Ulster, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and caregiver, Carollee, on Tuesday morning, August 23rd, 2016 following long battle with Alzheimers.

Helen was born in Kingston, New York on September 28th, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Wroblewski) Mazdin.

She was employed as an assembler at Hercules Powder Company, Port Ewen, for over 40 years. Helen loved ballroom dancing, cooking and baking, gardening and just being outside with her cup of coffee watching the birds. Her greatest pleasure was clothes shopping, being well-known as a "Fashionista".

Helen is survived by two daughters, Carollee Carpino of Town of Ulster and Gail M. Davis of Hurley, two sisters, Dolores Zajkowski, and her husband Ben, of Colorado, and Joan Chiolinos of Ulster Park, a daughter-in-law, Simeona Shultis of Ulster Park, grandchildren, Richard Shultis, Jr, and his wife Cristie, of Ulster Park, Stephanie Lee Shultis of NYC, and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Isabella Shultis, and an Aunt Claire Corcoran of Ten Broeck Commons. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She is predeceased by Laurence Shultis, a son, Richard A. Shultis, and a son-in-law, Gary J. Davis.

Cremation was held at Wiltwyck Crematory. The Shultis family will receive friends during memorial visitation on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am on Monday, August 29th, 2016 at The Immaculate Conception Church, 467 Delaware Ave, Kingston, Rev. John Borzuchowski, celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the Shultis family plot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
