Gerald G. Burr, 79, of Rt. 213, Ulster Park passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 16th, 2016 with his family by his side, at Archcare at Ferncliff Nursing Home, Rhinebeck.

Gerry was born in Kingston, New York on August 31st, 1936, a son of the late Raymond and Mary (Vincent) Burr.

He was employed as a metal fabricator for VAW, Ellenville for over 40 years. More recently, he volunteered at John A. Coleman Catholic High School for the last six years. He was an avid, and we mean avid, Ricci Race Team fan and dedicated member of their pit crew. He was a true blue NY Giants and NY Yankees fan.

His loving wife Beverly predeceased him September 11, 2010.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Ross, and her husband Jim, of Red Hook, Rene Chase, and her husband Dougie, of Ulster Park, four sons, Gerald (Duff) Burr of Florida, Mark Simes, and his wife Rebecca, of Fredericksburg, VA, and John Simes, and his wife Bonnie, of Palm City, Florida, and a beloved son-in-law, Ewen Drummond of Poughquag, one sister, Marilyn Thayer, and her husband Steve, of Shokan, nine grandchildren, Rachel, Katie, Rebecca, Alison, Marcus, Shane, Sheridan, John, and Shain, six great-grandchildren, and many adored nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, June 25th, at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Pastor Pete Shults, celebrant.

Friends will be received during memorial visitation from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, prior to the service.

Cremation held at Wiltwyck Crematory.
